That is because drug cartels usually manage to form alliances with other criminal elements, which allow them to expand the territories they hold.Some of the most significant drug cartels in the world today are associated with the North American countries. The number of illicit drugs available in the United States has increased to alarming proportions and there is a large amount of effort going into controlling these drugs. Many citizens are becoming addicted to the more dangerous forms of drugs such as marijuana and methamphetamines, but have no option but to try and get high to forget the troubles in their lives.The Mafia and crime families also have become bigger over the years. The majority of us have probably heard of the Mafia in our lives and how the members go from door to door offering their services for service to some one. Many times they will deal out threats and extortion, and they can be found in local areas as well as those not so popular with society.Now, we have issues with Mexican drug cartels. The cartels have found various ways to exploit the resources of different areas. They have been known to engage in kidnapping and other illegal activities to get money or the merchandise that they need to be distributed throughout the communities.Some of the businesses that are considered to be good sources of money for these criminals include the local police departments, insurance companies, pharmacies, and the US government. They can also steal vehicles, buy weapons, and even allow new residents to settle in these areas and there are some communities that are seen as safe havens to hide in.Law enforcement can be reluctant to do anything about these issues as they feel that the crime that they see has been created by one of the local criminal elements themselves. As with the Mafia, these c rimes are done to be able to control the territory that they have been given. Crime is good for business for these criminal groups because it generates income for them.Due to this lack of initiative on the part of law enforcement, many more of these organizations can easily form in smaller communities in the States. Many people assume that the reason that drug cartels are able to grow in the way that they have is due to the relative lack of attention being paid to them by the local law enforcement agencies. As the population increases in these areas, it becomes more difficult for the community to stand up to these drug traffickers.There is nothing new with Mexican drug cartels. This has been a problem in Mexico for a very long time and a lot of the drug dealers actually originate from Mexico and the United States.
